Private Credit Growth — methodology
Category: Economy & Jobs · Unit: % per year · Published monthly
What this metric measures
Twelve-month growth in credit to the private non-financial sector: housing, personal and business credit combined.
Why it matters: Credit growth tracks whether households and businesses are expanding or paying down debt. Rapid growth can signal overheating; contraction signals a credit crunch.
