Robbery Victims — methodology
Category: Education, Equality & Justice · Unit: victims per year · Published annual
What this metric measures
Recorded victims of robbery (armed and unarmed) in Australia each calendar year (ABS Recorded Crime - Victims). Counts only - the ABS publishes no national robbery rate because some victims are organisations.
Why it matters: Robbery is a confronting street crime that shapes how safe people feel day to day, and its trend moves differently from property crime overall.
