Personal Income Tax Receipts — methodology
Category: Government & Finance · Unit: $ million per year · Published annual
What this metric measures
Australian Government cash receipts from individuals and other withholding in each financial year - gross income tax withholding plus other individuals and trusts, less refunds. Outcomes only; budget estimates are not shown.
Why it matters: Personal income tax is the largest single source of federal revenue, and the clearest read on how much of the tax burden falls on wages and salaries.
