Gas & Household Fuels Index (CPI): methodology

What this metric measures

ABS Consumer Price Index for gas and other household fuels - the energy bill beyond electricity. Published as an index number.

Why it matters: Gas bills are a fixed household cost that has moved sharply with wholesale prices, and shifting to electricity makes gas costs easy to overlook.
