What this metric measures
Total value of Commonwealth procurement contracts published on AusTender, aggregated monthly. Covers all contracts >= $10,000.
Why it matters: Procurement is the largest single channel of government spending. Tracking contract values reveals spending patterns, supplier concentration, and value for money.
