New Dwelling Completions — methodology
Category: Housing & Cost of Living · Unit: dwellings per quarter · Published quarterly
What this metric measures
Number of new residential dwellings completed each quarter, nationally and by state.
Why it matters: Insufficient housing supply drives up prices and rents. Completions measure whether supply is keeping pace with population growth.
