RBA Cash Rate Target: methodology
Category: Money & Markets · Unit: % per annum · Published monthly
What this metric measures
The Reserve Bank's cash rate target as announced, with the day each change took effect. Unlike the monthly average it shows the rate in force today.
Why it matters: A change in the target reaches mortgage and business lending within weeks. The monthly average lags it by up to a month, so this is the rate to read when the Board has just moved.
